SW1 road closures coming soon

Road closures are

planned in the coming weeks in SW1 with the first scheduled in for Saturday 26

March.

The TUC March for

the Alternative is going to start in Victoria Embankment and carry on through

to Hyde Park. The march is a national demonstration against the government’s

cuts and is expected to be guarded by the protection of over 2,000 stewards.

The atmosphere should be peaceful though with many marchers taking their

families with them and ten marching bands playing a variety of music throughout

the day.

The march will

begin at 11am and finish at 6pm. To relieve congestion many of the roads in

Parts of SW1 will

also be closed on Friday 29 April as the nation celebrates the Royal Wedding.

Road closure begins at 6am on the day with some even being closed off the

evening before; the anticipated end is 2pm. A practice run is planned for early

one morning on a day during that week which may affect some routes. If you
