Pimlico Plumbers Employee Trains Boxers for London 2012

An employee of Pimlico Plumbers has been doing his part in preparing for the London 2012 Olympics by training amateur boxers. When Samm Mullins finishes his day job he heads down to the Lynn AC to train the aspiring fighters. Mullins is a former boxer himself but had to retire from the sport 10 years ago due to injury. Since then he has become a qualified coach at advanced level.

Currently he is coaching light heavyweight Obed Mbwakongo aged 20 (who claimed his second ABA title last year), Ruth Rapier (19) from Blackheath and American boxer Genevieve (29) from New Cross.
The training occurs at the Lynn AC, which is based in south London. The club is Britain’s oldest continuing amateur boxing club, and Mullins has moved up to become head coach there. Danny Williams, who once knocked out Mike Tyson, is one of the best known fighters to have come through the club.

I spoke to a very nice chap at Pimlico Plumbers called Karl who informed me that the company were formed in Pimlico and their original base was on Sussex Street. These days though they are based across the river in Lambeth.

ReportI'd go as far to say that I've seen Pimlico Plumbers all over London, but bizarrely not in Pimlico. Very odd. If someone could clarify the PP situation, that'd be great...
