Stretching the City is coming to Pimlico! After 3 years of running popular yoga classes in Islington, Stretching the City has hired a central Pimlico space to offer 6 week beginners yoga courses on Tuesday evenings.

Starting on Tues 14th Jan, classes will run from 6.30-7.30pm and 7.30-8.30pm. This 6 week course will run until Tues 18th Feb and then be repeated again in March.

This 6 week beginners course will teach you the key postures and principles of hatha yoga, leaving you confident to join general drop-in classes and establish a regular practice at home.

The group will be kept small, friendly and interactive. Enjoy an hour of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation to leave you feeling lighter in mind and body, and relaxed and revitalised for the week ahead.

The course is suitable for brand-new beginners or practitioners who want to go back to basics. Schedule may be subject to change, but the ‘theme’ of postures for each week is as follows:

Week 1: Sun salutations + standing poses
Week 2: Forward bends + stand poses
Week 3: Backbends
Week 4: Balances
Week 5: Inversions
Week 6 : All – a typical class
