Westminster Councils diminishing civic buildings and services

Pimlico may lose its local fire station with the proposed closure of Westminster Fire Station in Greycoat Place. Police stations in Harrow Road, St John's Wood and Marylebone may also close. This follows other civic building closures and proposed closures over the past few years. The Westminster Adult Education Service buildings at Amberley Road and Ebury Bridge in Pimlico were recently shut. The St James' Library on Victoria Street has closed as has the Walk-In clinic in Victoria. The City Council One Stops at Church Street, Harrow Road and City Hall have closed. The Jubilee Sports Centre in Queen's Park may also close. Old Marylebone Town Hall has been leased to the London Business School. It's all rather depressing. The proposed closure of the Westminster fire station has been suggested as a part of cost saving measures for the London fire service which will then reallocate resources to outer London boroughs.
