The proposed closure Greycoat Place Fire Station could affect Pimlico residents. Philippa Roe, the Leader of Westminster Council is 'opposed' to Mayor of London, Boris Johnson's, proposed closure of our local Fire Station which has been targeted as a part of cost cutting. Is it important to save public services, such as the Westminster Fire Station and Marylebone Police Station? Councillor Roe has formed a 'Task Group' to examine what implications, if any, there may be, with the closure of these services and other Westminster Fire stations in Harrow Road and St. John's Wood.
Westminster Council has cut £60 million from its own budget, and it is expected that £30 million will be cut over the next two years. Westminster Council has previously cut public services, for example the St James' Library on Victoria Street and also the One Stop Shops in Church Street, Harrow Road and Victoria?
Will the loss of Greycoat Place Fire Station affect Pimlico residents and will Westminster's cost cutting impact on services provided to Pimlico People?
