Weekend travel news for 5-6 January

Transport for London has announced that there will be about 1,000 people taking part in a religious procession starting from Marble Arch along Park Lane on Sunday afternoon at about 1.15pm. Motorists should avoid Park Lane and the surrounding area if at all possible. If you are using the tube on Saturday 5 or Sunday 6 January, please check before you travel to see if your journey is likely to be affected. There are no planned works on the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City, Northern, Victoria andWaterloo & City lines, or the entire DLR, London Overground and London Tramlink.
London Underground affected lines
Cannon Street will be closed most Saturdays until September 2013. Bank, Monument or Mansion House stations will be open. Canon Street is always closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The District line will be suspended all weekend between West Kensington, Acton Town and Richmond for bridge strengthening work.
The Jubilee line will be suspended all weekend between West Hampstead and Stanmore for Metropolitan line upgrade work at Neasden depot.
The Metropolitan line will be suspended all weekend between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate for Metropolitan line upgrade work at Neasden depot.
The Piccadilly line will be suspended between Hammersmith and Ealing Common for bridge strengthening work. There will be no service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge on the Piccadilly line. The Metropolitan line service will run between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.
