The summer holidays begin today for many students and teachers around the country, and for our locals who have the next five/six weeks off who may be stumped for ideas of what they can do, here are some suggestions for activities going on in Pimlico.

Westminster Boating Base

Pimlico Academy
The Westminster Boating Base kicks-off its 'Summer of Sport' activities on Monday 25 July when they will begin offering free kayaking and sailing taster sessions. These will run until Thursday 28 July so get in there quick to book your place. It's a great opportunity to take up a new sport - an Olympic sport at that too. Sessions run from 12.00-1.30pm and 2-3.30pm each day. Ages 10yrs+ are able to participate. If you want to reserve your place or find out more then email enquiries@westminsterboatingbase.co.uk or phone 020 7821 7389.
The Churchill Gardens Youth Club on Churchill Gardens Road are providing plenty of activities for 11-19yr olds such as football, golf, pool and table tennis. These will run every weekday from 5-10pm. Call Kevin Kelly if interested on 0207 630 1551 or email kkelly@cwh.org.uk
Lillington/Longmoore Youth Club are hosting mini fitness clubs every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening, the latter being a girls group only. For more details contact Kevin Kelly, as above.
Pimlico Academy have a greenhouse basketball programme on offer, as well as healthy cheap lunches, organised trips - two per week, competitions and other daily activities. To find out more call Nicky Bryan on 07931 475 501 or email n.bryan@pimlicoacademy.org
St Andrew's Youth Club will be very busy over the summer: archery, table tennis, boxercise, football, snooker, pool and push ball will all be taking place, as well as lessons in cookery, DJing and graffiti art. Contact Adrian Phillips or Burcin Tagman on 020 7222 6481.
