PIMILICO Graham Brett, former professional boxer accused of killing rival, 30 November 2012

A former lightweight professional boxer Graham Brett (50), of Ebury Bridge Road, Westminster, appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday 30th November charged with murder for the killing a rival with one punch. He had initially been charged on August 24th, with grievous bodily harm. The accused has denied murder. Brett was said to have delivered a single blow to Neil Hannah's chin, which caused him to hit the pavement outside the Greyhound pub in Pimlico, central London. The assault happened at the junction of Hugh Street and Cambridge Street at around 10pm on August 2, 2012. Mr Hannah (49), was an Australian. He suffered critical head injuries and was taken to hospital where he died five days later, on August 7th.
Graham Brett is due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on February 18, 2013.
