A new Pimlico exhibition in Chelsea College of Art and Design opened this week - Lloyd Johnson: The Modern Outfitter, feted as the man who dressed rock and roll's finest in the 60s and 70s.

Originally located on 406 King's Road, Chelsea, Johnson's fashion store was regularly frequented by the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Rod Stewart, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Keith Richards, Chrissie Hynde, The Specials, George Michaels, Jack Nicholson, Kid Creole, Fred Astaire and more.

Operating for more than two decades the famous address is now simply a dry cleaners. Yet the new exhibition will celebrate the career of the man who was visited by so many cultural legends and icons. Focusing on his archive of garments, textiles, artwork, personal effects and ephemera, the exhibition is sure to present breathtaking pieces.

A private viewing was hosted yesterday, 24 January, and the exhibition will now be open to the public until 3 March. The address is Chelsea Space, Chelsea College of Art and Design, 16 John Islip Street, London SW1P 4JU.
