Mr Mushrooms' wife drinks weedkiller in Pimlico home

Nicky Foy, the wife of Roger Phillips - Britain's leading expert on mushrooms - was taken seriously ill after drinking weedkiller at the couple's home in Pimlico. 

A fellow naturalist, Foy fell ill after drinking what she thought was water from a water bottle. However, the liquid turned out to be weedkiller. 

Having made a full recovery at hospital Foy is said to be feeling much better now.

There has been no suspicion raised over the incident and it was deemed as purely accidental. 

Phillips, who has been attributed with the nickname "Mr Mushrooms", has had several best-selling books published on his expertise in the field of fungi, including Mushrooms. Foy has also written several books, including Herbs with her husband.
