The Ebury in Pimlico has been bought back by Tom Etridge, the entrepreneur who sold the leasehold four and a half years ago to the First Restaurant Group (FRG).

In 2006 Etridge sold three gastropubs to FRG, The Ebury being one, and The Waterway in Maida Vale and The Running Horse in Mayfair being the other two. Carlo Spetale and Harold Tillman, who co-own and founded FRG, are said to have paid almost £3 million for the three pubs.
But Etridge has acquired the leasehold once again and is rumoured to be interested in expanding his portfolio of high-quality pubs and restaurants. It is not known how much the London-based entrepreneur paid to get back The Ebury at this point.
How do you feel about this news? Are you please by it or would you have preferred to see FRG stay in charge?
