Colin Jackson's marathon ends at Pimlico school

To celebrate the news that every primary school in the the Westminster area has signed up for the Tesco Great School Run programme Olympic medalist Colin Jackson has successfully completed a half marathon, which finished at Westminster Cathedral RC primary school in Pimlico. 

Jackson's 15-mile route started at St Augustine's CE primary school in Kilburn and crossed the borough, passing the majority of Westminster's 39 primary schools. 

The Tesco Great School Run programme was designed to promote healthier lifestyles to five to 11-year-olds and their parents. Now in its eighth year, 2011's programme finale was a 2k run that saw 1.2m children take part in. 

The 2012 aim is to get more than 1.2m registered from more than 4,500 schools that are said to be involved.
